Hot Flash Basics
The idea of hot flashes during menopause is a very complicated thing. There are many ways to relieve them and no clear cause of the suffering. There are many other options to help you survive hot flashes, which require only minimal effort from you, without really requiring you to drink any medication.
These tips can easily be added into your routine, without disrupting your entire lifestyle.
1. Dress in layers- this is so whenever you feel a flash coming on, you can take one layer after another as the heat increases
2. Stick to cotton- other fabrics prove to be very warm, and stick from sweat. Cotton is degrees cooler than others, and easier to wash. This also goes for bed covers. And remember to avoid clothes with very long sleeves, or turtle necks. Open-neck shirts are more ideal.
3. Take a cool shower before bed.
4. Use your Freezer- go ahead and freeze some ice, and keep cool drinks close by. Some women actually open the freezer or fridge, and stay in front these appliances when fan or air conditioners do not do the trick.
The tips will not rid of hot flashes, but are great help to manage the heat.
